A fire in a strip mall that impacted a dozen businesses started in a Subway restaurant.
Firefighters from Prospect Heights Fire Department said the fire Tuesday afternoon quickly spread, ABC 7 reported.
Four stores were destroyed, and eight others sustained fire, water or smoke damage.
Residents of nearby apartments were evacuated as a precaution. There were no reports of injuries.
